Structure

Reflecting their approval of the aims of the Japan Society of School Health, the school health associations of prefectures and ordinance-designated cities throughout Japan have joined the Society as constituent organizations. Although actually a public interest incorporated foundation, the Society acts in many ways like an incorporate association, liaising closely with its constituent organizations and respecting their views.

In regard to the operation of the Society, the following categories of member play an important role in addressing child-related health issues by utilizing their respective specialist knowledge and expertise.

School Principals and Vice Principals

Promoting health education and health management as an integral part of school administration

School Health Coordinators, Teachers, Nursing Teachers (YOGO teachers), and Diet and Nutrition Teachers, etc.

Providing schoolchildren with direct guidance and responding to their concerns

School Doctors, School Dentists, and School Pharmacists

Providing schools with guidance and advice based on their expert knowledge

Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)

Serving as a bridge for communication between schools and families in their role as representatives of parents and guardians
